Majuli (Assam), 30 August (HS): Film director and cultural activist Nimananda Das was killed in a tragic road accident at Kamalabari in Assam’s Majuli district.

According to reports, Das lost control of his vehicle, following which it veered off the road and fell into a deep ditch. He sustained critical injuries and killed in the accident.

Nimananda Das had been staying in Majuli in connection with film production work. His untimely death has cast a pall of gloom among the cultural fraternity and local residents.---------
