Guwahati, 30 August (HS): Eight residents of Assam who were stranded in Nepal have been safely rescued and will be brought back to the state today, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Sunday.

The Chief Minister shared the information through a social media post, stating that eight people from Assam stranded in Nepal have so far been safely rescued. Efforts are underway to bring the rescued individuals back to Assam with the active intervention of the Assam Government.

Among those stranded in Nepal is Samar Bezbaruah of Nalbari district, who has informed his family over the phone about his safety and the ongoing rescue efforts.

Meanwhile, the number of people from Assam reported missing in Nepal has increased to 10. Authorities are continuing efforts to trace and safely bring back all those stranded or missing in the neighbouring country.--------
