Guwahati, 30 August (HS): Basistha Police conducted an anti-drug operation in New Bazar area and arrested two alleged drug peddlers, a man and a woman, along with a quantity of banned narcotics and cannabis.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Pradip Pal and Janaki Devi. Police apprehended the duo from a room in Natun Bazar, Basistha, along with the suspected contraband.

During the operation, police seized seven packets of suspected drugs, around 8 kg of marijuana (ganja), and banned tablets. Further investigation is underway.------------
