Guwahati, 30 August (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said that security forces foiled an attempt by three people to illegally enter India along the Assam border.

In a social media post, Sarma said that a multi-layered security system has been put in place to further strengthen border security and prevent infiltration.

He said vigilant security personnel identified three individuals attempting to enter India illegally last night and prevented their entry.

The Chief Minister asserted that there would be no compromise on the country’s security and the integrity of its borders. He said every such attempt would be firmly thwarted.

Sarma also reiterated the government’s resolve to continue strengthening border security to ensure the safety of the country.----------
