
Imphal, 03 August (HS): Security forces and Manipur Police have arrested four alleged militants linked to different banned insurgent outfits in separate operations across the state, while also seizing arms, ammunition and over 13 kg of opium.
On Monday, security forces apprehended an alleged extortionist and active cadre of KCP (Apunba), identified as Joyson Khangembam alias Loyumba alias Tondonba (28), from Khongman Zone V East under Irilbung Police Station in Imphal East district.
Earlier in another operation, security forces arrested an active KCP (MFL) cadre, Lourembam Robinson Singh alias Benin (44), from Nongada Thongkhong under Lamlai Police Station in Imphal East district. Two .32 pistols, two magazines and nine rounds of .32 calibre live ammunition were recovered from his possession. Police said he was involved in the illegal possession, concealment and transportation of arms and ammunition.
In Churachandpur district, security forces raided the residence of Seikhogin Mate (43) at T. Khuangkhai village in Sangaikot Sub-Division earlier and seized approximately 13.230 kg of opium. The accused was arrested during the operation.
Earlier, Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of the RPF/PLA, identified as Ngangbam Nanao Singh (41), from his residence at Wangoo Ahallup Sanasam Leikai under Kumbi Police Station in Bishnupur district.
Further investigation is underway in all the cases.-----------
