protested in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Monday, accusing the BJP

administration of neglecting to address the Ram temple contribution theft issue

and demanding action against exam paper leaks. Holding signs reading NEET

hai ya cheat hai (Is it NEET or cheat?) and daan ka paisa kahan

milega, BJP ke khate me (Where will the contribution money be found? In

BJP coffers)

SP MLAs and MLCs accused the government of seeking to hide

the truth in the Ram temple donation case and demanded a fair investigation. SP

MLAs urged a debate in the House on concerns such as paper leaks, unemployment,

inflation, fertilizer shortages, floods, and suspected reservation violations.

They accused the administration of shortening the Monsoon

Session to avoid discussing public problems. The Uttar Pradesh Legislature's

Monsoon Session began Monday and will run till August 6. On August 4, the state

administration will offer its supplementary budget for the fiscal year 2026-27

to both Houses of the Legislature. The protesting legislators said that paper leaks

had harmed pupils and sought harsh penalties against those guilty.

SP MLA Ragini Sonkar said that the BJP's double-engine administration has

closed 26,000 schools in Uttar Pradesh by 2026, resulting in the dropout of

around 18,000 females. She criticized the BJP leadership of engaging in empty

rhetoric and toying with people's trust.

SP MLA Atul Pradhan accused BJP officials of diverting

contributions intended for the Ram temple in Ayodhya and stated that no

tangible action was taken based on the Special Investigation Team (SIT) report

created to investigate the subject.

Carrying a contribution box on his head during the

demonstration, Pradhan stated, We have come here today to launch a

campaign against those who stole devotees' donations. SP member Kamal

Akhtar said that unemployment was at an all-time high, paper leaks were common,

young were being driven into the streets, farmers were not receiving

fertilizer, flood conditions in Uttar Pradesh worsened, and the healthcare

system was in disarray. We want to address all of these concerns before the

House, but the administration has limited the session's time to prevent a

discussion, he added.
