Chandigarh, 03 August (H.S.):The Punjab

Government will organise the acclaimed theatrical production “Humare

Ram” across the state during August and September 2026 to promote

India’s cultural heritage and civilisational values.

Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Tarunpreet

Singh Sond said the government has planned an extensive series of performances

to give people across Punjab an opportunity to witness the grand stage

production based on the timeless ideals of Lord Ram. He said the initiative

would spread the cultural and moral message of the Ramayana through a

contemporary theatrical presentation.

The Minister said the state government respects the

freedom of every individual to practise their faith and has consistently

organised cultural events beyond religious boundaries. He added that “Humare

Ram” has received appreciation at national and international levels,

particularly among young audiences.

The production will be staged in Mohali at Amity

University on August 7 and 8, Bathinda at Balwant Gargi Auditorium on August 9

and 24, Jalandhar at CT Group of Institutions on August 28 and 29, and

Ferozepur at Genesis Institute of Dental Sciences and Research on August 30.

Performances will also be held in Hoshiarpur on

September 4 and 5, Gurdaspur on September 6 and 11, Pathankot on September 12

and 13, Amritsar on September 16 and 17, Patiala on September 18 and 19, Khanna

on September 20, Ludhiana on September 25 and 26, and Sangrur on September 27.

A total of 41 performances have been planned.

Produced by Felicity Theatre, “Humare Ram” is a major

Hindi stage production combining theatre, music, aerial acts, immersive visuals

and modern stage technology. Renowned actor Ashutosh Rana portrays Ravan, while

Rahull R. Bhuchar plays Lord Ram.

Unlike traditional adaptations, the production presents

the Ramayana from lesser-explored perspectives. The story begins with Luv and

Kush confronting Lord Ram following Sita’s departure and unfolds through the

celestial perspective of Lord Surya.

Sond said elaborate lighting and sound arrangements

would be made at all venues. He added that the initiative aims to introduce

younger generations to India’s spiritual, moral and cultural traditions while

promoting world-class theatrical arts.

Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board Advisor Deepak Bali appealed to

people across the state to attend the performances and experience the life,

ideals and enduring message of Maryada Purushottam Lord Ram.
