New Delhi, 03 August (H.S.): Samajwadi Party (SP) General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav on Monday termed Purnea MP Pappu Yadav's protest inside the Parliament complex over the alleged Ram Temple donation controversy as wrong, stating that saints had no connection with the issue.

Responding to questions from journalists in the Parliament complex, Prof. Yadav said, MP Pappu Yadav's protest was wrong because the alleged irregularities related to the Ram Temple donations have nothing to do with the saints. Such a protest should not have taken place.

However, he also made it clear that the Samajwadi Party would continue to raise the issue of the alleged irregularities concerning donations made to the Ram Temple.

It may be recalled that on Friday, Purnea MP Pappu Yadav staged a symbolic protest inside the Parliament complex by dressing as a priest and sitting with a donation box. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and several other Opposition leaders were seen symbolically placing money into the box. Pappu Yadav later put the money into his pocket in an apparent attempt to convey the message that there had been alleged irregularities in the handling of donations made to the Ram Temple.

The protest was attended by SP MPs Ruchi Vira, Ayodhya MP Awadhesh Prasad, Dharmendra Yadav, and Dimple Yadav, while several other Opposition MPs stood behind them observing the demonstration.
