Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed pride and delight over the Indian contingent's performance at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026, congratulating the country's medal winners for their outstanding achievements.

India concluded its campaign with a total of 39 medals, including 13 gold, 17 silver and nine bronze, finishing fourth in the overall medals table behind Australia, England and Canada.

In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi wrote, Delighted that India has won 39 medals, including 13 gold medals. Congratulations to all the medal winners. Throughout the Games, our talented athletes displayed exceptional skill, determination and dedication. Their hard work will continue to inspire our youth. My best wishes to the entire Indian contingent for their future endeavours. May they continue to give their best and bring greater glory to the nation.

The Glasgow Commonwealth Games concluded late Sunday night (IST) in Scotland with a spectacular closing ceremony featuring vibrant cultural performances. Indian artistes, including Rishab Rikhiram and Shankar Mahadevan, captivated the audience with their performances during the ceremony.

Australia topped the medals table with an impressive tally of 171 medals, including 70 gold medals. India finished fourth overall with 39 medals, delivering strong performances across multiple sporting disciplines and reaffirming its growing stature in international sport.
