New Delhi, 03 August (H.S.): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Monday congratulated and extended his best wishes to all athletes following the conclusion of the Commonwealth Games 2026.

In a post on social media platform X, Kejriwal congratulated all the athletes who participated in the Commonwealth Games and won medals for the country. He said the entire nation was immensely proud of their achievements.

Expressing optimism about India's sporting future, Kejriwal said that considering the talent and potential of Indian athletes, the country could aspire to top the medals table in the years ahead. He added that well-planned grassroots investment and robust infrastructural support for athletes could deliver extraordinary results.

Kejriwal also expressed disappointment over the exclusion of sports such as wrestling and shooting from the Commonwealth Games programme. He said it was deeply disappointing that disciplines in which India has traditionally excelled had been removed from the Commonwealth Games roster.

He further asserted that India should strongly oppose such unfair exclusions to ensure that similar decisions are not repeated in the future.
