
Bhubaneswar, 03 August (H.S.): Heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is likely to continue across Odisha over the next week, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday, issuing a yellow alert for several parts of the state.
According to the IMD, the renewed spell of rain follows a brief pause and is expected to persist until August 9, with warnings in place until the morning of August 10. The weather agency has cautioned about heavy rain and thunderstorm activity in multiple districts.
In its midday bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places over districts including Baleshwar, Sundargarh, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, and Gajapati during the next 24 hours.
The IMD has advised residents and local authorities to remain alert and take necessary precautions in view of the expected weather conditions.
