Kannada superstar Yash’s action thriller Toxic witnessed a slowdown at the box office on its third day. The film opened to a strong response in cinemas, recording a bumper collection of Rs 101.10 crore on its opening day. However, its earnings dropped to Rs 37.65 crore on the second day. According to Sacnilk, despite the Raksha Bandhan holiday, the film earned approximately Rs 26.60 crore on its third day. With this, Toxic’s total domestic collection for its first three days has reached around Rs 165.35 crore.

The film had generated considerable anticipation among audiences even before its release. However, it has received mixed to negative reviews from critics. Despite the divided critical response, Toxic has maintained a strong presence in the Hindi market. Based on its first three days of earnings, the film has climbed to eighth place among the highest-grossing Hindi films of the year. It has surpassed the lifetime collections of Imtiaz Ali’s Main Wapas Aaunga and Shahid Kapoor’s O Romeo. The film is now eyeing the record set by Cocktail 2.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic revolves around gangster Raya, played by Yash, who is raised by his sister Ganga, portrayed by Nayanthara. Raya is in a relationship with Rebecca, played by Tara Sutaria, but his life takes a dramatic turn after circus performer Nadia, portrayed by Kiara Advani, enters the picture.

Alongside Raya and Nadia’s relationship, the storyline involving Raya’s son, Ticket, forms another significant part of the film. Rukmini Vasanth and Sudev Nair also feature in prominent roles.
