Samajwadi Party because he was the only SP candidate who won from Samajwadi
party in Allahabad and nearby constituencies. Rewati Raman Singh took part in
the protest against emergency imposed by Indra Gandhi. He won elections at the
time when Congress was on its peak point and rare leaders dare's to stand
against Grand Old Party. So winning election against Congress was the big deal
for Rewati Raman Singh.

said, “Rajya Sabha member Revati Raman Singh contested his first election in
1974. He won, reaching the Assembly. After that, he never looked back in the
political arena. He continued to advance, establishing a strong foothold in the
political arena. He championed the voice of the people and, by addressing their
problems, won their hearts. This led to his eight-time MLA election.
Furthermore, he even defeated veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dr. Murli
Manohar Joshi in the Allahabad parliamentary seat.”
MP Ujjwal Raman Singh said that Kunwar Revati Raman Singh's relationship with
the people of Prayagraj is not merely political, but one of intimacy, trust,
love, and family. This relationship, dating back to 1974, has now spanned five
decades. Standing with the people through every phase of joy, sorrow, and
struggle, Babuji has been more than just a public representative for the people
of Prayagraj, but also a family member.
Senior Congress leader Shekhar Bahuguna also extended best
wishes for the long and healthy life of ex-minister and former Member of
Parliament Kunwar Rewati Raman Singh on the occasion of his 86th
birthday. He reached KP Community Centre and felicitated Kunwar Sahib by
