Amaravati, August 29 (H.S.): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday lauded the launch of the Coolphabets educational app aimed at helping children learn to read and write Indian languages, including Telugu.

The app was launched on the occasion of Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam (Telugu Language Day).

Recalling the famous words of Vijayanagara ruler Sri Krishnadevaraya, “Desa bhashalandu Telugu lessa”, Naidu said the sentiment behind the saying remains relevant even today. He stressed that Telugu should not merely survive in everyday conversation but remain vibrant in written form and be passed on to future generations of readers and writers.

Naidu expressed concern that children of the digital-first generation are increasingly moving away from reading and handwriting in Telugu. He said a love for the language and its script needs to be cultivated from an early age.

“I congratulate Kollu Ranjith, Venkat Yeleti and their team. It is heartening that the app is being released on the occasion of Telugu Language Day,” Naidu said in a message shared on social media.

He said it was encouraging that the app uses AI technology to examine children's handwriting and provide appropriate guidance.

“Technology should not distance us from our language... it should bring us closer,” the Chief Minister said.

Naidu said language and script are closely linked to cultural identity and expressed the hope that Telugu would continue to flourish among future generations.
