Guwahati, 29 August (HS): General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Chetan Kumar Shrivastava inspected Mariani Junction and Jorhat Town railway stations under Tinsukia Division on August 28, 2026.

During the inspection, the General Manager reviewed the station buildings, platforms, circulating areas and passenger amenities at both stations. He assessed cleanliness, upkeep and the overall condition of the station premises and directed officials to ensure proper maintenance and further improvement of passenger facilities.

At Jorhat Town, Shrivastava inaugurated eight newly constructed railway staff quarters in the presence of senior railway officers and officials.

He also conducted a window-trailing inspection of the railway section between Mariani Junction and Jorhat Town stations. During the inspection, he reviewed the condition of tracks, railway infrastructure and ongoing developmental works along the route.

The General Manager directed officials to maintain a strong focus on safety and ensure smooth and efficient train operations. The inspection highlights NFR's continued efforts to strengthen railway infrastructure, improve passenger amenities and provide safer and better travel facilities across its network.-------------
