Golaghat (Assam), 29 August (HS): An awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was organised by “F” Company of the 1st Battalion Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Golaghat, at a government school in the district on Saturday.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Sunil Kaushik, Commandant, 1st Battalion SSB, Sonapur. During the programme, Shri I. Zamir, Assistant Commandant and Company Commander of “F” Company, sensitised students and local residents about the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and the harmful effects of drug abuse.

He highlighted the physical, mental and social consequences of substance abuse and urged the participants to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthy and positive lifestyle. He also encouraged them to spread awareness against drug abuse and contribute to creating a drug-free society.

A pledge against drug abuse was administered to the participants, who resolved to stay away from drugs and support the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

Students, teachers and local residents participated enthusiastically in the programme. The event aimed to raise awareness among the youth and the general public about the ill effects of drug abuse and promote collective efforts towards building a healthy, safe and drug-free society.

The programme concluded with a collective commitment to building a Drug-Free India.------------
