Amaravati, August 29 (H.S.): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said the government is committed to the development of tribal areas and the welfare of tribal communities.

Visiting Gannela in Araku mandal of Alluri district, Naidu said the government had secured global recognition for Araku coffee and also honoured tribal revolutionary Alluri Sitarama Raju by naming the Bhogapuram international airport after him.

Addressing tribal residents, the Chief Minister said the Sanjeevani app would be a gamechanger in providing healthcare services. He said people would not need to travel to Visakhapatnam or Paderu for every health-related need as health services would increasingly be accessible through their mobile phones.

He said the government had taken responsibility for ensuring better medical services for every tribal resident. All primary health centres in the region would be upgraded within the next three months, with each PHC equipped to conduct medical tests, he added.

Naidu also said internet and mobile connectivity in tribal areas would be improved by installing additional cell towers. He assured the people that their problems would be addressed and roads would be laid to all villages in the tribal region.

The Chief Minister said the government would issue a fresh Government Order to ensure that jobs in tribal areas are provided to tribal people. He also said the TDP-led coalition government had made its ‘Super Six’ welfare promises a success.

Naidu said tribal communities were benefiting from the sale of Araku coffee and pepper, which were providing economic opportunities in the agency areas.

The Chief Minister also participated in a ‘Mukha-Mukhi’ interaction with tribal residents at Gannela and enquired about the implementation of various government services and welfare schemes.

He spoke to a pregnant woman and enquired about the medical facilities being provided to her. Naidu also interacted with residents of RK Nagar and asked 16 people whether they were receiving the benefits of government schemes.

Gannela has 47 households with a population of 189. A woman resident told the Chief Minister that her daughter was undergoing NEET coaching.

Women and children from RK Nagar welcomed Naidu with a Dhimsa dance.
