Guwahati, 29 August (HS): At least 12 people from Assam are reportedly missing in Nepal following the devastating floods and flash floods in the neighbouring country, according to information received by the Assam government.

The missing persons are reportedly from Karbi Anglong, Golaghat, Hojai, Guwahati and Nalbari districts. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said the government has so far received information about 12 Assam residents who are untraceable in Nepal.

The Chief Minister said the number could increase as more information becomes available. He added that the Assam government is maintaining continuous communication with the Nepal government and is closely monitoring the situation.------------
