
Guwahati, 28 August (HS): The ITF World Masters MT 200 International Ranking Tennis Tournament, organised by the All Assam Tennis Association (AATA), concluded successfully at the AATA complex in Chachal, Guwahati, on Friday.
Indian players dominated the Senior Men's and Women's events, with four players—Premjit Singh, Sarandeep Singh, Balkrishnan Bhatia and Saili Trivedi—clinching both singles and doubles titles in their respective age categories to secure double crowns.
In the Men's 35+ Singles final, Premjit Singh defeated compatriot Indrakumar Singh 6-1, 6-2. In the doubles final, the Indrajit-Premjit pair defeated Pritam Das Sharma and Pema Norbu 6-1, 6-4.
In the Men's 45+ category, Sarandeep Singh beat Rohit Lala 6-3, 6-2 in singles. Partnering Shahnawaz Zafar in doubles, Sarandeep defeated Roshan Kant Ghising and Rajkumar Singh 6-3, 6-3.
Balkrishnan Bhatia won the Men's 55+ Singles title after defeating Roshan Kant 6-0, 4-6, 11-9. He later partnered Arun Agarwala to beat Ranadeep Baruah and Hakim Ali 6-2, 6-1 in doubles.
In the Women's 35+ Singles final, Saili Trivedi emerged champion, with Rani Kaur finishing runner-up. Saili and Babita Mohan Langthasa won the doubles title, defeating Najnin Rahman and Rani Kaur.
Najnin Rahman won the Women's 45+ Singles title, while Babita finished runner-up.
In the Men's 65+ Singles final, Dilip Singh defeated Leishangthana Meitei Singhanbam 6-0, 6-1. Bharat Phukan and Shibu Mathew won the doubles title in the category, while Dilip Singh and Leishangthana finished runners-up.
At the closing ceremony, trophies were presented by AATA Secretary Ankush Dutta and senior tennis player Tiken Chandra Basumatary. ITF Supervisor Geetika Paul conducted the ceremony.-----------
