Lucknow, 28 Aug (HS): The Uttar Pradesh Government has taken

an important initiative to access agricultural products to global markets and

promote value addition in the agriculture sector. The second meeting of the

State Horticulture Export Promotion Board discussed facilitating exports and

launched a new website. The meeting was attended by farmers, exporters and FPOs

from all 75 districts, which resulted in signing of Memorandums of

Understanding (MoUs) between exporters and FPOs.

Horticulture Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh said that the new

website will provide information to farmers and exporters about which produce

of their district can be sold in which country, what standards of the product

are required for the concerned country and what procedures have to be followed

for export.

There are currently around 3,000 exporters active in Uttar

Pradesh, helping farmers' produce reach international markets. Exports were

worth Rs 727 crore in 2016-17, which increased to Rs 1,132 crore in 2025-26. Agricultural

produce of Uttar Pradesh is reaching more than 20 countries including America,

UAE, Germany, Britain.

An Integrated Testing Treatment Park will be built near

Jewar Airport, which will enable faster transportation of produce through air

cargo. Bhamashah Price Stabilization Fund of Rs 1000 crore has been established

to provide price stability to the farmers in the market, along with this,

discounts are also being given on cold storage rent and seeds.

The meeting laid special emphasis on product quality,

international standards, packaging, pesticide management, cold chain and other

export related requirements. In the workshop, experts from APEDA, Deloitte,

CISH and CIPMA provided technical information on the current status of

horticulture exports, future prospects, good agricultural practices and

standards required for exports.

State Horticulture Export Promotion Board will play an

important role in realizing Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's resolve of one

trillion dollar economy, opined Horticulture Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh.
