Champawat, August 28 (H.S.): The historic Bagwal fair was held with devotion and enthusiasm at Maa Varahi Dham in Devidhura on Friday on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. A large number of devotees attended the fair. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also participated in the event, offered prayers at Maa Varahi Temple and prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the state.

The Chief Minister said the large gathering of devotees at the Bagwal fair reflects the deep faith of the people in Sanatan culture and the glorious traditions of Devbhoomi. He said Uttarakhand's religious and cultural traditions are an integral part of the state's identity and the government is committed to their preservation and promotion.

He said the government is giving special attention to preserving the state's folk faith, traditional fairs and cultural heritage while also promoting their development. Ancient temples and religious sites across the state are being developed in a planned manner, while facilities for devotees are being expanded.

Dhami said Uttarakhand's identity is defined not only by its natural beauty but also by its ancient religious traditions, folk beliefs and cultural heritage. The government is working to preserve these traditions while connecting them with modern facilities.

He said traditional fairs are not only religious events but also important platforms for preserving folk culture, social harmony and local traditions. Such events promote local culture while also benefiting the rural economy and tourism.

The Chief Minister said the government's aim is to provide better facilities to devotees at major religious and cultural sites across the state and take Uttarakhand's rich traditions to people across the country and the world.
