Guwahati, 28 August (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday paid heartfelt tribute to brave Assamese martyr Tilak Deka on his death anniversary.

In a social media post, the Chief Minister recalled Deka’s supreme sacrifice during the Quit India Movement. He said the inspiring stories of Assamese sons who laid down their lives for India’s independence, putting the nation above their own lives, continue to enrich the legacy of patriotism.

Dr. Sarma said Tilak Deka actively participated in the Quit India Movement and sacrificed his life in British firing at Barpujia. He offered his deep respect and homage to the martyr on his death anniversary.----------
