Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s much-awaited film ‘Ranabaali’ has officially locked its release date. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the Telugu pan-India film will arrive in cinemas worldwide on October 16, coinciding with the Dussehra festival. Produced under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, the film features Vijay Deverakonda as a warrior named Ranabaali, while Rashmika Mandanna plays his wife, Jayamma.
The makers announced the release date alongside a striking poster featuring Vijay in an intense avatar. The poster carries the line, “The darkest chapter of our history begins this October.”
Set against the backdrop of the 1870s, ‘Ranabaali’ is said to explore the devastating famine that struck southern India during that period and the story of a rebellious warrior who raised his voice against British rule amid the widespread suffering. The film is expected to present the historical narrative on a grand scale.
Following ‘Dear Comrade’ (2019), Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna will reunite on the big screen, adding to the anticipation surrounding the project. However, ‘Ranabaali’ will face direct competition at the box office from Yami Gautam’s ‘Nai Naveli’, which is also scheduled for release on October 16.
With both films arriving during the Dussehra festive period, audiences can expect an intriguing box-office clash. ‘Ranabaali’ has generated considerable excitement, particularly among fans of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna.
