Lucknow, 27 Aug (HS): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national

president Mayawati has questioned the state government's announcement to

provide government jobs to one lakh youth within the next six months. She said

that while this delayed move by the government is correct, it appears more like

an election initiative. She added that it would be best if these appointments

are completed on time, free from paper leaks and corruption, so that they do

not turn out to be an election gimmick.

BSP chief Mayawati wrote on the social media platform

X on Thursday morning that people are eagerly awaiting a government

announcement regarding recruitment for the backlog of reserved posts for SC,

ST, and OBC communities. Mayawati said that 6,800 candidates from these

communities are agitating for their appointments due to reservation rules in

the 69,000 teacher recruitment in the state, and the government should

definitely consider them as well.

Mayawati, while raising questions about the school education

system, further stated that the BSP consistently demands substantial

improvements to the school education system. She added that approximately

30,000 government schools have been closed, and it would be in the public

interest if the government immediately makes arrangements to reactivate them

effectively.

On free travel for elderly women in buses, Mayawati said

that more than this, the government needs to work towards protecting women from

exploitation, atrocities, harassment etc. in every field and also about their

safety, respect and self-reliance.
