New Delhi, 27 August (H.S.): Incumbent chairperson Yogesh Verma has once again filed his nomination for the post of Chairperson of the Education Committee of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). The election for the post is scheduled to be held on September 3. With no other candidate having filed a nomination from the Opposition so far, Verma is increasingly likely to be elected unopposed.

Yogesh Verma is currently serving as the Chairperson of the MCD Education Committee. During his tenure, he has focused on improving the quality of education in civic schools and developing modern facilities. He has also worked towards transforming MCD schools into ‘Nigam Shri’ schools, expanding smart facilities and encouraging meritorious students.

Verma has further emphasised identifying talented students in civic schools and providing them with opportunities and support to advance their academic and overall development.
