Prayagraj, 27 Aug (HS): Utsarg – The Cultural Confluence

organised ‘Vagarth – Curiosity Unbound’, an educational and cultural programme

that brought together knowledge, creativity, literary expression and cultural

traditions through an on-stage quiz, poetry competition and cultural

performances. The event was graced by Professor Ajay Kumar Jaitley, Dean,

Faculty of Arts, as the Chief Guest; Professor Dhananjay Yadav, Director,

Faculty Recruitment Cell, as the Guest of Honour; and Professor Saroj Yadav,

Head, Department of Education, as the Special Guest. Dr. Manish Kumar Gautam

and Dr. Amit Singh were also present, along with other distinguished guests,

students and members of the Utsarg team.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the

lamp by the dignitaries, assisted by Utsarg’s Founding President, Kushal

Pandey, symbolising the illumination of knowledge and wisdom. This was followed

by a soulful Saraswati Vandana, presented by Raunak, a member of Utsarg’s

Cultural Cell.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Professor Jaitley

congratulated Team Utsarg on organising an engaging and meaningful programme.

He commended the initiative for providing a platform that integrated

intellectual curiosity with cultural expression.

The on-stage quiz, conducted by Quiz Mistress Shubhi Tiwari,

was one of the programme’s principal highlights. It comprised three rounds

designed to assess the participants’ knowledge, awareness, quick thinking and

presence of mind, creating an engaging and competitive atmosphere for both

participants and the audience. Anmol Pandey and Abhijeet Soni emerged as the

Quiz Winners, demonstrating commendable knowledge, composure and presence of

mind.

The quiz was followed by a Poetry Competition, in which

participants presented their original compositions. The presentations provided

a platform for individual expression and reflection, adding a distinctive

literary dimension to the programme.

Poetry Competition Winners: First Prize — Deepa Singh,

Second Prize — Aakash Kumar

and Third Prize — Ashutosh Yadav. Adding vibrancy to the

event, a series of cultural performances showcased India’s diverse cultural and

traditional heritage. The performances brought colour, rhythm and energy to the

programme while complementing its central theme of celebrating culture

alongside knowledge and creativity.

Aastha was recognised as the Best Performer of the Day for

her outstanding dance performance, which captivated the audience and added to

the cultural spirit of the event.

The winners of the competitions and the Best Performer of

the Day were awarded by Professor Sonia Sthapak, Associate Professor,

Department of Education, in recognition of their performances and achievements.

The programme then concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered

by Utsarg’s Founding President, Kushal Pandey, who expressed gratitude to the

dignitaries, faculty members, participants, audience, team members and all

those whose support contributed to the successful organisation of the event.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem, marking a

dignified close to the celebration. ‘Vagarth – Curiosity Unbound’ successfully

brought together the spirit of inquiry, literary creativity and cultural

expression, reaffirming Utsarg’s vision of creating meaningful platforms where

knowledge meets curiosity, creativity meets expression, and culture becomes a

shared experience.
