
Prayagraj, 27 Aug (HS): Utsarg – The Cultural Confluence
organised ‘Vagarth – Curiosity Unbound’, an educational and cultural programme
that brought together knowledge, creativity, literary expression and cultural
traditions through an on-stage quiz, poetry competition and cultural
performances. The event was graced by Professor Ajay Kumar Jaitley, Dean,
Faculty of Arts, as the Chief Guest; Professor Dhananjay Yadav, Director,
Faculty Recruitment Cell, as the Guest of Honour; and Professor Saroj Yadav,
Head, Department of Education, as the Special Guest. Dr. Manish Kumar Gautam
and Dr. Amit Singh were also present, along with other distinguished guests,
students and members of the Utsarg team.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the
lamp by the dignitaries, assisted by Utsarg’s Founding President, Kushal
Pandey, symbolising the illumination of knowledge and wisdom. This was followed
by a soulful Saraswati Vandana, presented by Raunak, a member of Utsarg’s
Cultural Cell.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Professor Jaitley
congratulated Team Utsarg on organising an engaging and meaningful programme.
He commended the initiative for providing a platform that integrated
intellectual curiosity with cultural expression.
The on-stage quiz, conducted by Quiz Mistress Shubhi Tiwari,
was one of the programme’s principal highlights. It comprised three rounds
designed to assess the participants’ knowledge, awareness, quick thinking and
presence of mind, creating an engaging and competitive atmosphere for both
participants and the audience. Anmol Pandey and Abhijeet Soni emerged as the
Quiz Winners, demonstrating commendable knowledge, composure and presence of
mind.
The quiz was followed by a Poetry Competition, in which
participants presented their original compositions. The presentations provided
a platform for individual expression and reflection, adding a distinctive
literary dimension to the programme.
Poetry Competition Winners: First Prize — Deepa Singh,
Second Prize — Aakash Kumar
and Third Prize — Ashutosh Yadav. Adding vibrancy to the
event, a series of cultural performances showcased India’s diverse cultural and
traditional heritage. The performances brought colour, rhythm and energy to the
programme while complementing its central theme of celebrating culture
alongside knowledge and creativity.
Aastha was recognised as the Best Performer of the Day for
her outstanding dance performance, which captivated the audience and added to
the cultural spirit of the event.
The winners of the competitions and the Best Performer of
the Day were awarded by Professor Sonia Sthapak, Associate Professor,
Department of Education, in recognition of their performances and achievements.
The programme then concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered
by Utsarg’s Founding President, Kushal Pandey, who expressed gratitude to the
dignitaries, faculty members, participants, audience, team members and all
those whose support contributed to the successful organisation of the event.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem, marking a
dignified close to the celebration. ‘Vagarth – Curiosity Unbound’ successfully
brought together the spirit of inquiry, literary creativity and cultural
expression, reaffirming Utsarg’s vision of creating meaningful platforms where
knowledge meets curiosity, creativity meets expression, and culture becomes a
shared experience.
