Karan Johar’s reality show ‘The Traitors India Season 2’ is now heading towards its grand finale, with the competition becoming increasingly intense with every new episode. The latest three episodes streaming on Amazon Prime Video featured several unexpected eliminations, with actress Rhea Chakraborty’s exit emerging as one of the biggest surprises. Rhea had been playing the game as an ‘Innocent’ from the very beginning, but after coming under suspicion from her fellow contestants, she was ultimately eliminated from the show.
Rhea failed to prove her innocence during the ‘Circle of Suspicion’ and her journey on the show came to an end. She appeared emotional during her farewell and used the phrase ‘déjà vu’ while reflecting on her experience. She said, “This has all happened before... I am in the second chapter of my life. How dare you? I am innocent. I always have been. I always will be.” Rhea subsequently apologised to all the contestants and expressed hope that they would continue to remain good friends even after the show.
Rhea’s reference to ‘déjà vu’ also brought back memories of her earlier controversy. Following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the Narcotics Control Bureau had arrested Rhea in connection with a drugs-related case. She was later reported to have received a clean chit in the matter.
Following Rhea’s elimination, actress Shweta Tiwari and content creator Ansh also exited the show. Rapper Ikka was expelled for failing to complete a task, while the contestants collectively identified Traitor Shehnil Gill, bringing her game to an end as well.
