Guwahati, 27 August (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday accused the Congress of being an “anti-women party” and alleged that it has consistently opposed issues related to equal status and rights, including the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He also said that Congress should be boycotted.

Commenting on the growing use of generational labels such as Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha, Sarma said he did not believe in such concepts, describing them as largely European ideas. He said greater importance should instead be given to the relationship between children and their grandparents.

The Chief Minister added that concepts such as Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha have no connection with the cultural context of Assam and India.---------------
