Sivasagar (Assam), 27 August (HS): Sivasagar Police have intensified their action following the Assam Chief Minister’s directive in connection with the death of Manasjyoti Chetia.

Police have detained five persons—Abidur Rahman, Subera Begum, Selimur Rahman, Selima Begum and Anowara Begum—for interruption in connection with the case.

Following the incident, demands have also been raised for strict action against those allegedly involved. Sringkhal Chaliha thanked Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for directing the police to take action in the case.--------------
