Guwahati, 27 August (HS): The Assam Government has issued a notification for the establishment of Kahilipara Police Station under the East Guwahati Police District, with immediate effect.

According to the notification issued by the Home (A) Department, the existing jurisdiction of Dispur Police Station has been bifurcated to create the new Kahilipara Police Station. The newly established police station will include the Odalbakra Outpost and Bhagadattapur Outpost, which were earlier under Dispur Police Station.

The Kahilipara Police Station will initially function from the existing premises of the Odalbakra Out Post until a dedicated building is constructed. The jurisdiction of both Kahilipara and Dispur Police Stations has been separated by the notification.

The notification, issued under Section 11 of the Assam Police Act, 2007, has come into force with immediate effect. The order was digitally signed by Ajay Tewari, Additional Chief Secretary, Home & Political Department.------------
