Assam Health and Family Welfare Minister Ashok Singhal on Thursday reviewing the district’s healthcare services in Majuli.


Majuli (Assam), 27 August (HS): Assam Health and Family Welfare Minister Ashok Singhal on Thursday visited Majuli and reviewed the district’s healthcare services, infrastructure and overall health system.

Singhal inspected the 50-bed Ayurvedic Hospital at Sriram Chapori and interacted with doctors, health workers, patients and their attendants to understand the facilities and challenges. He assured that necessary steps would be taken to address the issues identified during the inspection.

The minister also visited the historic Sri Sri Uttar Kamalabari Satra and offered prayers for the welfare of the people.

Later, Singhal inspected the Sri Sri Pitambar Dev Goswami District Civil Hospital and reviewed its medical services, infrastructure and management. He interacted with medical staff, patients and attendants and assured that steps would be taken to improve healthcare facilities.

At the Majuli Deputy Commissioner’s office, the minister also chaired a review of key health indicators, including maternal and child health, disease control, healthcare infrastructure and the progress of various health programmes. He stressed the need for field-level measures to further improve health indicators and ensure better healthcare access for the people.

Majuli MLA Bhuban Gam, Additional Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department Munindra Nath Nangte and other officials accompanied the minister.---------------
