New Delhi, 27 August (H.S.):

BJP MP Anurag Thakur launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over the Indian economy and the issue of employment in Himachal Pradesh. Speaking to reporters at his residence in Delhi, Thakur said India is currently the fastest-growing economy among the world’s major economies and that the global community is looking towards the country with optimism and high expectations.

Thakur said the more developed India becomes, the greater the benefits will be for the entire world. Taking aim at Rahul Gandhi, he urged the Congress leader to stop making what he described as false statements and issuing remarks based on information originating from foreign countries.

The BJP MP also sought an explanation from Rahul Gandhi over the promise of providing five lakh government jobs in Himachal Pradesh. He said Rahul Gandhi and the Congress should tell the people of the state, particularly its youth, what happened to the electoral promises made regarding employment.

It is noteworthy that the Economic Survey 2025-26 has described India as the fastest-growing economy among the major economies for the fourth consecutive year. Meanwhile, the BJP has continued to question the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh over employment and government jobs, as well as the promises made during the elections.
