Hooghly, 26 August (H.S.): Uttarpara MLA Dipanjan Chakraborty on Wednesday inspected several ghats in the constituency along with officials from the state government's Irrigation and Urban Development departments, as part of efforts to accelerate development and modernisation works.

During the inspection, Chakraborty visited the Bhadrakali Shibtala crematorium ghat, Konnagar Sadhu Ghat and several other ghats. The team assessed the existing infrastructure and examined the requirements for their renovation, modernisation and beautification.

The MLA said the inspection was aimed at ensuring that the proposed development works are implemented at the earliest. Various aspects of the projects were reviewed on the ground in consultation with the concerned government officials.

Chakraborty said he remains committed to fulfilling every promise made in the election manifesto and taking forward the development agenda of Uttarpara.

“For the people, with the people and by their side — with this commitment, our continuous journey towards the development of Uttarpara will continue,” the MLA said.
