More than 95k motivators and coordinators will benefit,

payment to be made after BSA 's attendance certification

Lucknow, 26 Aug (HS): The Yogi government has provided

significant relief to the motivators of the Sakshar Bharat Yojana (literate

India scheme), with the cabinet approving the payment of outstanding honorarium

of Rs 398 crore. More than 95,000 motivators and coordinators will get the benefit;

payment will be made after BSA's attendance certification.

In the state cabinet meeting held on under the chairmanship

of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, an important proposal related

to the payment of pending honorarium of Shiksha Preraks and District and Block

Coordinators working under the Sakshar Bharat Yojana has been given the green

signal.

According to the proposal passed by the cabinet, the

centrally sponsored 'Sakshar Bharat Yojana' had ended on 31 March 2018. Under

this, 256 District Coordinators, 746 Block Coordinators and 94,360 Shiksha

Preraks were working in the state, whose honorarium was pending.

Sandeep Singh stated that the Yogi government is sensitive to the interests of

every sector associated with education. He added that the motivators and

coordinators working under the Sakshar Bharat Yojana played a crucial role in

promoting literacy in the state. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath, the cabinet has taken a historic decision in their favor. This

decision provides respect and justice to the workers at the bottom of our

education system.

Additional Chief Secretary Basic Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma

informed that according to the audit report of the financial year 2017-18, the

total outstanding amount was Rs. 401.25 crore, from which after deducting the

expenditure amount as per the court order, the total liability currently

remains Rs. 398.18 crore. After the Rs. 137.65 crore available in the main bank

account of the State Literacy Mission Authority, the remaining amount of Rs. 260.53

crore is to be released. For this, a provision of Rs. 336.91 crore has been

made in the budget of the financial year 2026-27.

As part of the payment process, this amount will be held at

the disposal of the Director (Literacy and Alternative Education, Uttar

Pradesh, Lucknow). The payment process will be completed after the District

Basic Education Officer certifies the presence of the motivators and

coordinators.
