
New Delhi, 26 August (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke over the phone with Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah on Wednesday and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives caused by floods in Nepal. He conveyed India’s solidarity with the people of Nepal during this difficult time and assured that New Delhi would extend all possible humanitarian and relief assistance.
In a post on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi said he had spoken with Prime Minister Balendra Shah and conveyed his condolences over the loss of lives caused by the floods in Nepal. He said the people of India stood firmly with their brothers and sisters in Nepal during this challenging period.
The Prime Minister said India was ready to provide Nepal with all possible humanitarian assistance. He added that Indian teams were working in coordination with the relevant Nepalese authorities on rescue and relief operations.
