
New Delhi, 26 August (H.S.): Amid the threat of flooding in Bihar due to torrential rains and glacier-related incidents in Nepal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary over the phone on Wednesday. He assured the Chief Minister that the Centre would extend all possible assistance to the state to deal with any potential crisis.
The Home Minister has also activated the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to deal with the situation and ensure that relief and rescue operations can be launched immediately in the event of an emergency.
The Central Government is keeping a close watch on the situation in Bihar and will provide additional assistance to the state as required.
