Lucknow, 26 Aug (HS): In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath will inaugurate the Lokmata Ahilyabai Matrushakti Yatra project,

which would offer women over the age of 60 with free transportation on roads

and busses for their whole lives. Women in Uttar Pradesh who are 60 years old

or older are eligible for lifelong free riding on buses operated by the Uttar

Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation. To qualify for free travel, eligible

older women must provide proper government identification, such as an Aadhaar

card or a voter ID card. The transportation firm will distribute customized

smart cards to facilitate identification and processing for daily travels. Over

one crore older ladies are likely to benefit from the permanent welfare

program.

Separate from the lifelong senior plan, the UP government provided free bus

travel for ladies (and one accompanying person) on UPSRTC busses during the

Raksha Bandhan festival season.

“The maternal power that has eased the path of family and

society throughout her life—our resolve to make her journey smooth and

dignified is being realized in the double-engine government. Today in Lucknow,

the 'Lokmata Ahilyabai Matrushakti Yatra' will be inaugurated, under which

mothers and sisters of the state aged 60 years and above will be provided with

free bus travel facilities. Additionally, on Raksha Bandhan, mothers, sisters,

and daughters will be provided with free bus travel facilities including one

accompanying traveler. The honor of maternal power and their convenience is our

priority,” stated UP CM in a post on X.
