Live telecast of Chief Minister's program organized in
Lucknow done District Panchayat Auditorium
Prayagraj, 26 Aug (HS): On the auspicious occasion of Raksha
Bandhan and the launch of Lokmata Ahilya Bai Matrishakti Yatra Yojana, which
provides free bus travel facility to women above 60 years of age in Uttar
Pradesh, a program was organized by the Uttar Pradesh government in the
District Panchayat auditorium on Wednesday regarding the facility of free bus
travel with co-passenger to mothers, sisters and daughters from August 27 to
August 29, 2026.
In the programme, Minister in charge of Jal Shakti Vibhag
Swatantra Dev Singh, Industrial Development Minister of Uttar Pradesh
Government Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, Mayor Umesh Chandra Ganesh Kesarwani, MLA
City North Harshvardhan Vajpayee, BJP Metropolitan President Sanjay Gupta,
Gangapar President Nirmala Paswan, Yamunapar President Rajesh Shukla, District
Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, Chief Development Officer Harshika Singh,
Regional Manager Roadways Ravindra Kumar Singh and other officials along with a
large number of women watched the live telecast of the Chief Minister's
programme organised in Lucknow.
Minister in charge Swatantra Dev Singh said that today is a
historic day for Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched the
Lokmata Ahilyabai Matrishakti Yatra Yojana, a scheme dedicated to mothers and
sisters. He said that the government has fulfilled the vision of empowering
women. He said that today, mothers and sisters above 60 years of age have
received the gift of free travel for life. He said that through this, our
mothers and sisters can also go on pilgrimage and visit their relatives. He
said that under this, women and sisters above 60 years of age can travel for
free with the help of Aadhar card, voter ID card or smart card provided by the
Transport Corporation.
Uttar Pradesh Government's Industrial Development Minister
Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi said that today is a historic and unprecedented day for
Uttar Pradesh. On the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan, under the inspiration
of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath, respect and gratitude for women and sisters is reaching new
heights. He said that the place of women has always been supreme in our
culture. Since ancient times, half the population, our mothers and sisters,
have been the mainstay of progress for our families, societies, and nations. In
this spirit, the launch of the Lok Mata Ahilyabai Matrishakti Yatra Yojana is a
matter of great pride and honor.
He said that through her successful leadership, Lok Mata
Ahilyabai Holkar set many standards of service, good governance, and public
welfare. In the name of such a brave and skilled saint, this scheme is
dedicated to the honor of our senior mothers and sisters. He said that under
this scheme, women over 60 years of age are now receiving lifelong free travel
on Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation buses. He said that the most important
thing is that this facility is not limited to any festival. This facility will
be available every day throughout your life. It is your right. He said that
under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, this scheme is not only
for free bus travel for our mothers, it is also for the economic self-reliance
of the mother power. He said that for our government, women's respect is not
limited to mere slogans. It is also our top priority and commitment. He said
that the government is working on the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,
Sabka Vishwas.
On this occasion, Additional District Magistrate Supply Sanjeev
Kumar Shakya, District Development Officer G.P. Kushwaha, Deputy Commissioner
Labour Employment, Assistant Regional Manager Civil Line Jaikaran Prasad along
with other officers and employees of the Transport Department and a large number
of mothers and sisters were present.
