New Delhi, 26 August (H.S.): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta officially launched the ‘Delhi Lakshmi Scheme’ at an event held at Talkatora Stadium on Wednesday. During the programme, the Chief Minister handed over sanction letters and financial assistance to eligible women under the scheme. Certificates were presented on stage to 65 eligible beneficiaries.

Around 2,500 eligible women attended the programme. Under the scheme, beneficiaries will receive financial assistance of Rs 2,500.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the government’s objective was to economically empower eligible women and ensure that they receive the direct benefits of various welfare schemes.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Education Minister Ashish Sood, PWD Minister Parvesh Verma, Culture Minister Kapil Mishra, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra, MPs Praveen Khandelwal, Kamaljeet Sehrawat and Bansuri Swaraj, along with several MLAs and other public representatives, were present at the event.
