Guwahati, 26 August (HS): An awareness programme against drug abuse was organised by “E” Company of the 1st Battalion, SSB, Sonapur, at Nalapara LP School in Lokhra on Wednesday under the guidance of Commandant Sunil Kaushik.

During the programme, students, local residents and SSB personnel were sensitised about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse on physical and mental health, as well as its adverse impact on individuals, families and society.

Participants were urged to stay away from drugs, adopt a healthy lifestyle and contribute actively towards building a drug-free society. They were also made aware of the importance of collective efforts to prevent drug abuse, particularly among the younger generation.

The programme aimed to spread awareness among students and the local community about the dangers of drug abuse and encourage their participation in the vision of a Drug-Free India.-----------
