Lucknow, 25 Aug (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath distributed appointment letters to 3,572 young people during a

program held at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan on Tuesday. In his address, he

said that in the last nine and a half years, his government has provided

government jobs to more than nine lakh young people in the state. He added that

in the next six months, one lakh young people in the state will be given

government jobs.

Yogi said that we must keep in mind that when we select the

most qualified candidates without discrimination, the entire state benefits.

The entire state benefits from their talent and energy, and this is one of the

most significant achievements of the double-engine Bharatiya Janata Party

government over the past 9-9.5 years.

He said, I am pleased to report that during this

period, our government has succeeded in providing government jobs to over

930,000 young people in Uttar Pradesh, and no one can question a single

appointment. We have decided from day one that the pre-1920s practice would no

longer be followed. An advertisement for an appointment would be published, and

the uncle-nephew duo and the entire Mahabharata clan would then set out across

the state to collect the money. The youth would wander around, nothing would

come of it, and ultimately the courts would have to stay the proceedings. Our

youth's time was wasted. People would assume these young people were worthless

because they weren't getting jobs. The fault wasn't with the youth; it was with

those in those commissions and boards and the corrupt system of the governments

of that time. We stated on day one that if this government operates under a

policy of zero tolerance towards crime and criminals, we will break the

backbone of the counterfeit mafia and the mafia operating in various

institutions, and teach their masters a lesson.

You must have noticed that during this time, we took massive

action. We confiscated the mafia's property, secured recovery from them, and by

making the recruitment process more transparent, we succeeded in providing

government jobs to over 930,000 young people. Today, as I join this program of

distributing appointment letters to 3,500 agricultural technical assistants and

market secretaries, I am assuring the youth across the state that within the

next six months, another 100,000 young people will be given government

appointment letters.

Imagine if this was ever a dream in UP. Here, we can give

government appointment letters to one lakh young people within six months. All

exams have been completed. The results process is underway. I will also urge

the commissions and boards to release them on time. The time limit needs to be

further limited. No young person should be left stranded.

We feel bad when young people say they've taken exams and

haven't received their results yet. We convene meetings with commissions and

boards and tell them, We've given you so much freedom, please release the

results on time. What used to happen before? You must have studied in

this state. The UP Board exams used to take three months. The results took

three months. Thus, six months of the year were wasted. The admission process

for the next three months was separate. There were festivals and other celebrations.

Children didn't even get three months to study. Back then, the government used

to say, Cheating is our birthright. In other words, they encouraged

cheating. They left young people without any means. To gain cheap popularity,

they created an identity crisis for the youth of the state. In the short term,

young people thought they were well-wishers, but they weren't. They were

enemies of the youth.

When I held the first meeting in 2017, I told them to do it

for a month. They said it would not be possible. So I said leave the chair, I

will get it done within a month. I will get it done within a month and today I

am happy to tell you, I will conduct the UP Board examination in 14 days and

will also get its results declared in the next 14 days. 56 lakh candidates

appear in that examination, 56 lakh children appear. I have also told those in

higher education to further limit the examination system. Examination should

not be a means of torturing children. It should be a means of assessment. Make

it easy, make it simple, fill them with confidence.

Yogi said, remember this Uttar Pradesh was called a sick

state before 2017, it was a sick state. Youth were migrating, farmers were

committing suicide. Daughters were facing security crisis. Businessmen were

devastated by the mafia. Farmers were afraid to go to their fields. If they had

installed a motor in their fields, they did not even know when it got stolen.

This used to happen in UP and today I am happy to tell you that we have given

jobs to 9 lakh 30 thousand youth of UP in UP, what is the result? UP has

benefited from it.

This youth has succeeded in uplifting Uttar Pradesh from a

sick state and establishing it as India's third-largest economy. Today, no one

steals a motor from the fields of Uttar Pradesh's farmers, the food providers.

They know that if someone steals, they will surely become lame the next day.

And before 2017, the government itself used to get the motors stolen. Yes, they

were the ones who got the thefts done.

The Chief Minister said that electricity was available for

one week during the day and one week at night. That too for three hours. What

development could anyone achieve with this? We provide approximately 10 hours

of electricity to the farmers of Uttar Pradesh, and that electricity is also

provided free of charge. This means that electricity is free for government

tube wells. Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Minister of State Sardar

Baldev Singh Olakh, Principal Secretary Ravindra Kumar, and others were present

on the occasion.
