Enquiry into Amravati Hospital ventilator blast in 8 days

(HS): A seven member committee under the Divisional Health Commissioner Sanjay

Katkar, has been constituted to conduct enquiry into the Amravati’s Hospital’s

NICU ward where three infants died due to blast and fire into a ventilator. The

incident occurred in the early hours of Monday.

The enquiry

committee was announced by the Public Health and Women and Child Development

Minister Prakash Ambitkar. The Minister has directed the committee to submit

its report within eight days.

also stated that a meeting will be convened relating to fire audit of all the

hospitals in the state.

Blast in

ventilators in NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) ward of District Women and

Child Hospital (Dufferin Hospital) 1t 3.30 am on Monday, killed three infants.

The other were immediately shifted to different hospitals.

FINANCIAL

SUPPORT: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced financial support of Rs 5

lakh to the families of the deceased. He also announced the cost of the treatment

of the injured will be borne by the State Government.
