Guwahati, 25 August (HS): The Congress has intensified its preparations for the upcoming Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election and invited applications from party leaders and aspirants seeking the ticket.

Aspirants will have to submit their applications along with ₹1 lakh. The last date for filing applications is August 28.

The party is expected to begin the process of scrutinising the applications before finalising its candidate for the by-election.

It may be mentioned that the sitting Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi has been resigned from the post and joined the BJP during the last assembly election period.-----------
