Bhubaneswar, 25 August (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has hailed the completion of 10 years of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), describing it as a transformative force that has made digital payments simpler, faster and more inclusive across India.

In a social media post, Majhi said India’s journey towards making payments easier began a decade ago and that UPI has today become synonymous with convenience for millions of Indians.

The Chief Minister credited the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for transforming UPI into a seamless part of everyday life. He said the digital payment system has made transactions quick, convenient and accessible to people across different sections of society.

Majhi noted that what began as a payment platform has evolved into a “people-powered digital revolution”, enabling seamless transactions from roadside vendors and small businesses to modern enterprises, and from villages to cities.

As UPI completes a decade, the Odisha Chief Minister said the journey reflects how every digital transaction has contributed to the momentum of Digital India, while strengthening a more connected, empowered and self-reliant nation.

He said UPI’s widespread adoption has demonstrated India’s ability to build digital infrastructure that is both accessible and transformative for citizens.
