Guwahati, 25 August (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has indicated that the state government will take strict action against private nursing homes over issues concerning patients and their families.
Speaking to media persons after attending a programme, Sarma said that from now on, no patient or body of a deceased person would be kept in a nursing home solely because the family was unable to pay the required money.
He said the government is considering important measures to ensure that patients and their families receive necessary assistance. A significant decision in this regard is likely to be taken by the state Cabinet soon.----------
