Imphal, 25 August (HS): Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with the Indian Army and Imphal East Police Commandos, recovered a significant cache of arms, ammunition and explosives from an underground hideout at Sinam Kom in Imphal East district of Manipur on August 24.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the joint team conducted a search operation at around 3 am using metal detectors and an explosive detection dog. The operation resulted in the recovery of two rifles, three pistols/guns, three hand grenades, a mortar shell, magazines and 37 rounds of ammunition.

The recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives were handed over to Sagolmang Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.------------
