Accused Involved In Attack On Police Party Arrested After Months In Jammu


Jammu, 25 August (H.S.): Jammu Police has arrested a notorious absconder wanted in an attack on a police party by Police Station Miran Sahib.

Officials told that the accused has been identified as Murad Ali @ Fajji, son of Abdul Ganie, resident of Marallian Dackbanglow. He had been evading arrest for the past several months.

Police said the accused was wanted in FIR No. 53/2026 registered at Police Station Miran Sahib under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the Arms Act.

The case relates to an incident in April 2026, when the accused along with his associates allegedly attacked a police team on official duty, in which two police personnel were injured. Since then, he was absconding.

Acting on specific information, a team of Police Station Miran Sahib led by Inspector Jatinder Singh, SHO, along with PSI Rohit Kumar and other personnel, apprehended the accused after sustained efforts.

Police said Murad Ali @ Fajji is a notorious bovine smuggler and is involved in more than eight FIRs registered against him in different criminal cases.

Further investigation is going on.
