
Srinagar, 24 August (H.S.): The Finance Department of the Jammu and Kashmir Government has placed two officials of the District Treasury Bandipora under suspension for allegedly retaining a large number of bills beyond the permissible limits, thereby causing unauthorised delay in the final payment.
An order issued by the Director General Accounts and Treasuries said Ahtisham Ul Haq, Accountant, and Mohammad Sofi, Accounts Assistant, were suspended after an inspection of District Treasury Bandipora conducted on August 22 found that a large number of bills were not processed for final payment and retained in treasury beyond permissible limits, thereby causing unauthorised delay in the payment.
During the period of suspension, both officials shall remain attached with the office of Director Accounts and Treasuries Kashmir, with subsistence allowance as admissible under the rules to be paid to them, the order said.
