New Delhi, 24 August (H.S.): Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will undertake an official visit to Canada and the United States from August 25 to September 2. The visit is aimed at strengthening economic and financial partnerships with the two countries, deepening investment ties and advancing cooperation on shared global economic priorities.

According to the Ministry of Finance, Sitharaman will participate in the first India-Canada Economic and Financial Dialogue in Toronto with Canadian Finance and National Revenue Minister François-Philippe Champagne. During her visit to the United States, she will lead the Indian delegation at the G20 meeting.

During her engagements in Canada and the US, the Finance Minister will participate in roundtable discussions with leading investors, businesses and representatives of the financial sector. She will also hold high-level interactions with private-sector stakeholders to explore opportunities for strengthening economic and investment ties.

Sitharaman will additionally lead the Indian delegation at the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting being held under the US G20 Presidency.

As part of her visit, Sitharaman will also interact with members of the Indian diaspora in Toronto and Chicago, with the aim of strengthening people-to-people ties and further deepening economic relations between India and the two countries.
