
New Delhi, 24 August (H.S.): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday paid floral tribute to former Union minister Arun Jaitley on his seventh death anniversary at his statue in Arun Jaitley Park. She shared the information through a post on her official social media account on X.
The Chief Minister said that Arun Jaitley’s public life, as a nationalist thinker, eminent jurist, powerful orator and accomplished organisational strategist, remained dedicated to serving the nation and promoting good governance. As Union Finance Minister, he played a significant role in strengthening and reshaping India’s economy through several important economic reforms, she said. His commitment to the nation and the organisation, along with his contribution to nation-building, would continue to inspire generations, Gupta added.
Gupta said Jaitley’s public life began with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), followed by his struggle against the Emergency, years of dedicated service within the organisation and an influential role in Parliament. She described his journey as an inspiring example of nationalist politics and public service.
The Chief Minister said Jaitley’s decisive contribution to several major reforms that gave a new direction to the country’s economy during his tenure as Finance Minister would always be remembered. Delhi remained his karmabhoomi, she said, adding that his close association with party workers and the people of the national capital continues to live on through cherished memories.
